Cabernet Sauvignon
Single Variety
Clare Valley
At release, the wine's colour is evolving nicely and is a crimson red with a brick red hue to the edge.
The wine displays ripe cassis, with stewed plum, red berry and raisins.. There are lashings of underlying cassis blackcurrant cassis and mint to entice while oak maturation delivers nuances of tobacco leaf, cedar along with a touch of cinnamon spice.
This is a full-bodied wine that is complex and savory in character with rich fruit characters of blackcurrant and fruit compote. The fruit is encased and supported by quality French oak delivering savoury nuances of tobacco, cedar and spice. The acid line is fresh from the cooler growing season and lifts the palate. Overall, this is a generous wine in its intensity yet still elegant and restrained.
The wine was matured in high quality French oak - some new barrels and some second use - for 24 months prior to being bottled.
A cooler season with above average rainfall.
Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a long term under ideal conditions.
