The Hotelier
Originally a hotelier, Bill Taylor embarked on a journey to source great wines for his guests. This eventually lead to the Taylor family establishing their own Clare Valley winery in 1969, with a vision to craft wines that would rival the world's best.
Bill's father had worked hard to build a collection of very successful hotels in Sydney. It was in the 1960’s that the Taylor family’s long-standing association with the Clare Valley wine region began when they partnered with the local, regional Winemaking Co-operative to bottle and distribute their own wines through their hotels.
Bill Taylor’s love for Australian wines came from his time working behind the bar as a hotelier. He understood the joy of bringing together great wine, food and company. That tradition continues today with the modern, food-friendly wines in the Taylors Hotelier range.
