region

colour

At release, the wine is a dark ruby red with a bright red hue.

nose

The wine displays a distinctive regional expression of choc-mint along with cool climate aromas of violets, spice and cedar tobacco notes from French oak maturation.

palate

Deliciously haunting flavours of blackcurrant, mint and dark chocolate persist around a finely tuned tannin structure and a thoroughly enjoyable long and persistent finish.

oak maturation

French oak was employed for its ability to deliver a degree of elegance and length to the palate. The wine was matured for 12 months in fine-grained French oak before being blended, filtered and bottled.

vintage conditions

The Coonawarra region enjoyed good winter rains leading into the growing season for vintage 2019 which served to mitigate high temperatures and seasonal weather conditions. Typically cool nights created by the Southern Ocean created optimal ripening conditions which allowed for full flavour development. The Cabernets from the vintage are deep and rich in colour with great varietal definition and soft ripe tannins.

cellaring notes

Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a long term under ideal conditions.
