At release the wine is a ruby red with a vibrant purple hue.

nose

The wine displays rich dark cherry fruit characteristics with hints of spicy incense and underlying dusty oak aromas.

palate

This is a medium-bodied wine with flavours of maraschino cherry, plums and subtle spice along with well integrated savoury oak. There is a pleasing soft and silky texture to the mid palate and the wine has a long, persistent finish.

oak maturation

Half of the blend was matured in new American oak and the remaining 50% was matured in a combination of both French and American oak (3 and 4 year old) for 8 months before final blending and bottling.

cellaring notes

Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a short term under ideal conditions.
